See Hostels See Hostels

Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 Sep 2026

This policy explains what information See Hostels collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the See Hostels Android app, which shows the same website inside an app.

In short

  • We collect only what we need to run bookings and payments between seekers and hostel owners.
  • Your CNIC and contact details are shared with the hostel owner or warden once you book with them — not with other seekers.
  • The app collects no extra data on its own; it uses your device only for the features you choose (uploading photos, finding nearby hostels).
  • You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.

1 Information We Collect

When you register and complete your profile we collect your name, email, phone number, gender, CNIC, date of birth, and location. Hostel owners also provide business and bank-account details so they can receive payments. We store the images and payment proofs you upload, and basic technical data (such as your device type and log information) needed to keep the service secure and working.

2 Why We Collect CNIC Data

Your CNIC is shared with the hostel owner or warden you book with to support accountability in the booking relationship — for example, if a seeker leaves a hostel without formal checkout or without clearing dues. It is never shown to other seekers or used for marketing.

3 How We Use Your Data

We use your data to operate bookings, verify subscription and rent payments, send transactional emails and in-app notifications, and to show your profile to the relevant hostel owner or warden once you submit a booking. We do not sell your personal data.

4 Who Can See Your Information

A hostel owner or warden can see the profile, CNIC, and contact details of any seeker who books, or has booked, a bed at their hostel. Seekers cannot see other seekers' information. Platform staff can view account and transaction data only for support and moderation.

5 Location Data

With your permission, we use your approximate location to show nearby hostels. You can decline this and still browse normally. Hostel coordinates are shown publicly on the map so seekers can find them.

6 The See Hostels Mobile App

The Android app displays the same See Hostels website inside an app window. It does not collect any data on its own beyond what the website collects. When you use certain features the app asks your device for permission first: the camera and photos (to upload payment proofs and hostel images) and location (to find nearby hostels). You can grant or deny each permission, and change it later in your device settings.

7 Cookies & Sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. These are required for the platform to function and are not used for advertising.

8 Data Retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed to resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.

9 Your Rights & Deleting Your Account

You can access and update your profile information at any time from your account settings. You may also request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by contacting support. Some records tied to completed transactions or unresolved dues may be retained where the law requires.

10 Data Security

Connections to See Hostels are encrypted over HTTPS, and access to personal data is limited to the parties described above. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to keep your password private and to sign out on shared devices.

11 Children

See Hostels is intended for adults arranging accommodation and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.

13 Contact

For any privacy-related questions, or to request access to or deletion of your data, please contact support.
